Darryl Nyznyk, J.D., Former President, Anatasi
Darryl Nyznyk has 20 years of experience in private practice along with extensive managerial experience. He has represented numerous clients in business and real estate matters including the Irvine Company, Restaurant Enterprises Group (formerly a part of WR Grace), Sunnyglen Corporation and Anastasi Construction Company. In 1998 Darryl made a move from the private practice of law to an in-house position as vice-president of operations and general counsel for his client Anastasi Construction Company.Darryl was President and CEO of Anastasi and he managed this company's period of meteoric growth, from $22M to $110M in 2006. Along the way, Darryl was responsible for managing numerous departments and 200 employees, maintaining and nurturing all banking and investor relationships, planning and implementing all business activities and financial planning, and establishing through speaking engagements, community outreach, promotions and marketing activities, a name recognition which made the company synonymous with quality construction, customer service and community involvement. He graduated cum laude from the University of California at Santa Barbara and magna cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Maurice B. Sterman, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of the Departments of Neurobiology and Biobehavioral Psychiatry, UCLA School of Medicine.
A world-renown scientist, Barry Sterman's research laid the foundation of both EEG self-regulation (neurotherapy), with 6,000 clinicians worldwide, and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI). President of Cognitive Neurometrics Inc., President of Neurosynch., Inc., and cofounder of the Sterman-Kaiser Imaging Laboratory Inc., Barry has worked closely with business and the military for decades. In the 1990s he developed neurometrics to evaluate flight performance for Northrop-Grumman's B-2 program and NASA's pilot underload program. He has consulted for Thomson Vitamins, Inc. and EEG Spectrum, Inc.,His academic appointments include Visiting Associate Professor, Inst. Brain Research, Univ. of Tokyo, and Attending Staff, Neonatal Service, County/USC Medical Center. During his career he has supervised 13 doctoral students and 14 postdoctoral students. He has published more than 150 papers and chapters and edited six books.
Gary Richardson, M.D., Senior Research Scientist, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI
Gary Richardson, MD is senior research scientist in the Sleep Research Laboratory and senior staff physician in endocrinology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr Richardson received undergraduate and medical training at Stanford University, where he began research on basic circadian rhythmicity and the control of sleep and wakefulness. He subsequently completed an internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and endocrinology and neurology fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Richardson was a pioneer among sleep disorders specialists in focusing on the clinical management of circadian rhythm sleep disorders, including the provision of specialized care to shift workers with difficulty adapting to shift schedules. Dr Richardson's current research focus is on central mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of sleep disorders, particularly the dysregulation of autonomic systems in obstructive sleep apnea and primary insomnia.
Jason Soss, M.D., Clinical Instructor of Neurology, UCLA Seizure Disorder Clinic.
Dr Soss completed a fellowship in Neurology at UCLA School of Medicine in 2002, a residency in Neurology at the University of Michigan Health System, and earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and Board certified in Clinical Neurophysiology and in Neurology. His research includes localization of seizure onset through nonlinear analysis of scalp EEG and physiologic mechanisms of epilepsy. Past research was funded by the Epilepsy Foundation of America and the National Epifellows Foundation. He is a graduate of Yale University.
