Michael J. Bier Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer, President and Director
Dr. Bier is an advocate for correct thinking applied within the constraints of scientific principles, empirical evidence and sound theoretical models. He has traveled extensively and presented at numerous scientific meetings including the Society for Neuroscience for more than two decades. Dr. Bier earned a Series 7 financial license and worked at Morgan Stanley. A lifelong passion for managing wealth, economics, medicine, science, and politics made him a savvy financial planner and as a highly educated, well connected, and yet well-rounded individual Dr. Bier possesses the credentials, experience, drive, and charisma to propel WaveState, Inc. into a position of prominence in the Medical Device Industry. Dr. Bier was a Fellow at the Harvard Medical School and earned his Ph.D. at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in Neuroscience on a training fellowship in Neurobiology and Biomedicine. In 1993 he secured a research position at UCLA/VA Medical Center in Sepulveda where he was awarded grants to study sleep, narcolepsy and epilepsy. His teaching experience includes Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology courses at the University of California, San Diego, as well as related courses at Hunter College, NY. He is board certified in sleep medicine (2005).

I. Robert Armstrong, Chief Financial Officer
Bob Armstrong is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in finance, marketing and operations management. He has held significant positions in established, large multinational businesses as well as small companies and start-ups. This background, coupled with his interest in business culture building, enables him to be effective throughout the life cycle of a company. Mr. Armstrong served in senior financial, product management and operations roles while with IBM. He has extensive experience in several IBM commercial and government sector divisions. He was the chief financial officer at two major IBM sites, director of worldwide product pricing for the office products division and director of plans and controls for federal operations during his tenure there. Since leaving IBM, Bob has been focused on helping to build high-tech companies. He has been the CFO for three start-up companies during that time and has helped to secure over $100 million in venture capital and asset based financing for them. His most recent full time association was as Sr. Vice President and CFO for SRD, a software company that was sold to IBM in 2005. When not working full time on these ventures, Bob is a sought after consultant by both larger established and smaller emerging companies… delivering management advisory services in the area of product pricing, financial and general management. His practice is based in Colorado.

Simon Griffin, Vice President of Marketing and Sales
Simon Griffin has worked in the clinical neurophysiology market for 23 years and has a proven track record of success with some of the leaders in the field including Medelec Ltd, TECA Corporation, Oxford Instruments and Viasys Neurocare. His extensive knowledge of the market includes hospital and industry contacts as well as a detailed knowledge of the techniques and technology used in the clinical applications. His experience includes collaboration in the specification and release of the world's first digital EEG system in 1989. He was responsible for developing and implementing the world-wide marketing plan for this device which revolutionized the practice of EEG. In addition he was responsible for the US launch of two lines of EMG instrumentation that went on to become some of the most successful in the market. In 2001, Simon founded LifeLines Neurodiagnostic Systems, Inc. This business imports and distributes innovative medical devices targeted for neurodiagnostic applications. LifeLines successfully introduced the Nervus Monitor, the first dedicated EEG system for data collection in the ICU setting. The success of this introduction led to the purchase of the Icelandic manufacturer by Viasys Neurocare in 2005. He has a bachelor's degree in medical electronics.

David A. Kaiser Ph.D, Vice President of Research & Development, Chief Technical Officer
David Kaiser co-founded the Sterman-Kaiser Imaging Laboratory, Inc. (SKIL) Bel Air, CA in 1998, a software and hardware company that develops innovative quantitative EEG tools. SKIL introduced the first new measure of functional connectivity for EEG since coherence analysis was introduced in 1961. He is Editor of the Journal of Neurotherapy, fellow and past board member of the International Society for Neurofeedback Research, and President-elect of the Neurofeedback Division of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback. He was Vice President of Cognitive Neurometrics Inc., Director of Internet and Research for EEG Spectrum Inc., and a consultant to EEG Spectrum International, Inc. He taught the only undergraduate quantitative EEG course in the nation at the Rochester Institute of Technology and has published extensively. He earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from University of California at Los Angeles, an MFA from University of Iowa, and a B.A. from Cornell University.
